Hue and Seek is a daily colour puzzle. One photograph, five colours hidden somewhere inside it. A new picture, and a new set of striking colour names each day.
You're given a colour to find, and you're scored on how close you actually got, which is rarely as close as it felt.
There are two ways to play. Standard which gives you just the colour's name. And Easy which gives you more support in matching the colour.
The game keeps track of your daily average, your best day, your streak, and which colour families you're quietly best at. And of course, share your results with your friends by telling them which colour you are today!
If one puzzle a day isn't enough, Challenge mode pulls photos out of the archive and plays them in rounds of five.

Hue and Seek was made by myself with the assistance of Claude (by Anthropic). I don't write code (I've tried so many times, but can never seem to get the hang of it); so I direct Claude about how the game should look, feel, and play.
The human part: the photographs, the colours, the difficulty modes, the scoring, the writing, the secret mode, and the daily rhythm of the thing are mine.
The AI part: Claude wrote and debugged the code, suggested technical tradeoffs, and helped shape the structure of the page.
In my head, I delineate it as: I designed it. Claude programmed it.
